  New Luggage Requirements

Effective December 15, 2002 Northwest Airlines will reduce the domestic (U.S., Canada, Caribbean, Mexico) free weight allowance for passengers' checked luggage from 70 pounds to 50 pounds per piece.

If you find yourself at the airport and your luggage weighs more than 50 pounds you will be paying a fee of:  50 - 70 pounds  $25     70 - 100 pounds $50

Over 100 pounds they will not accept as checked luggage - needs to go to cargo with the rest of the freight.

If history repeats itself then you can count on all the rest of the airlines adopting this same policy in the future. So far, American Airlines has joined forces......I'll keep you posted.

FYI - All of our domestic major airline carriers have now implemented these changes. Please check with each carrier as to their particular rules.
